Today I’m going to share with you a short story about myself and how my parents helped me become a successful adult. Don’t worry, it’s not long, only a few examples on how I started to work for the first time during my teenage years and what was the lesson I’ve learned. I think this has some value in my life and I want to share it with you readers. I really appreciate what my parents done for me for revealing me the right path in life, I thank them very much.
The point of this short story, is to make you understand that parents are the best teachers in life. Whatever you become in life, it begins during childhood, yes, you start building it back then when you were a kid. Parents play a great role in your life, with the right advice and mind-setting which they give to a child they really help it to grow and become a successful human being.
This story has only a few short examples which were a turning point in my life. I hope you enjoy.

No, I did not grow up as a millionaire. I grew up as a normal kid with a normal family.
Well, my first boss, was “my parents.” Yes, that’s true. How can my boss be “my parents?” Well this is a life lesson I want to share with you readers. I used to go to school everyday when I was a kid, hehe, you did too! Do you remember how many times did you ask your parents for money? Most of you I bet you asked them everyday, maybe you wanted to buy your lunch or do any after-school activities. Well, my parents did not want me to ask them for money every single day which I needed for school, and they found a way which in order to get money for school I had to work at home. So after my high-school homework reading, I had to do certain jobs at home which my parents paid me enough money which I needed by the time. I started with simple jobs, washing the dishes (oh I really hated that one), taking out the trash, even walking the dog (I really hated that too). I did these jobs for years and years. I would always ask myself “why me?” and always shouted out “I hate these jobs!” I needed more free time as a teenager, you understand. In fat, I wanted to have a lot of freetime! Well what I am talking about here? I couldn’t understand why I was working at my own home, I always thought that this wasn’t fair and my parents were using me. So what is the lesson you’ve learned Andy? I want you to believe that its been almost a decade since I was a teenager, and now, after all those years, I understood why I did these jobs which I really hated. What my parents tried to teach me was, that money have a value and they are never free. I understood that in order to become a successful grown-up person I had to work, I had to earn what I wanted and never get something for free. I knew that by being lazy in my life it wouldn’t do me any good! Their goal was to prepare me for the grown-up life, they set my mind to be ready for the grown-up years which are very hard especially when you are still at the youngest point, right after high-school.
Later on, my parents found me a job at a supermarket. I became a bagger, you know like those kids that stand behind the cashier putting all of the groceries into bags and onto a little cart which pushed it to the customer’s car, so the customer doesn’t have to carry anything. Well, this job was fun enough! I used to work for 5-6 hours on the weekends when school was off. I had the free time! Money was good enough fore me! Great! What is the lesson Andy, please tell us! Well, I did not get paid by the owner of the supermarket, but by customer tips. One day I got a $10 bill from a customer in just 5 minutes of work! I was extremely happy! I made almost $60-$70 in those 6 hours and I put up a target of $100, I never made the target though, most I ever got was $90, close enough, hehe. I remember one day I used to count how much money I’ve saved, then my mother told me, “wow, right now you have more money than we do,” well that kept me going. My mothers words, motivated me, they made me want more and more money. That lasted for sometime..but after a few months of work, I started complaining, I got bored of the job, I had to deal with the same customers all the time dealing with hundreds of groceries each day, I really hated everything. That’s where my father showed up which I explained to him why I was bored. My father told me these words, “don’t complain about your job, just think how much money you make.” His words deleted all my complains, I went back to the supermarket thinking those words, I never got bored again and I saw each customer as my money. That was a great motivating lesson for me. I still remember his words today after a decade! Every time I get bored at my job today, I think of those words and I keep going. These words are really motivating you know, when a really boring day comes during your work, and you start to hate everything, just think of the money you’ll make, and think what you want to do with that money..and believe me, it will make you keep going and going..
Today I work as a computer technician in a internet cafe company. I work 10 years long! I wouldn’t have done it without my parent’s advice, motivating, and mind-setting. I thank them a lot! I started this blog, probably I will get money from it too someday, I will still not quit my regular job, having a job is something I like to do, even if one day I make millions.
